On 30 October 2024, Central Macedonia’s premier initiative for open innovation was completed, which brought together researchers and start-ups with ten leading Greek companies, namely ISOMAT, K&NE, OLYMPIA ELECTRONICS, SIEMENS, Thpa, AKRITAS, ALUMIL, BIOS, DIOPAS and INFOTEAM HELLAS MIKE, to jointly develop original solutions to specific industrial challenges.
The event concluded with IFS 2024 Ceremony, where the teams that developed the most promising and effective solutions to the program’s challenges (4 out of 55) received cash prizes worth €40,000. Additionally, a winning team got the opportunity to qualify directly to Phase II of the 15th National Bank Innovation & Technology Competition.
The Laboratory of Polymer Reaction Engineering (LPRE) of CPERI with the team consisting of Evgenia Tsanaktsidou, Olympia Kotrotsiou, Veroniki Bakola, Alexandros Pavlou, Giannis Penloglou and Olga Kammona received the €10,000 “IFS Innovation Achievement Award” for the DIOPAS challenge to develop solutions for the development of a New Ecological Material for the Impregnation of Aquaculture Nets.
It should be emphasized that IFS 2024 is an initiative of The One Stop Liaison Office. This endeavor serves as a platform where creativity, technology, and collaboration intersect to showcase Central Macedonia as a beacon of innovation within Southeast Europe.
